"We face the past with pride and the future with courage"
This quotation sets the theme of the past account of the Ogontz Fire Company and our hopes for the future.”
Ogontz Fire Company services the center part of Elkins Park in Cheltenham Township, Pennsylvania. We are one of five fire companies in Cheltenham and work together with the police and EMS services to protect our community.
We are composed of a completely volunteer staff dedicated to protecting lives and property in our township. As with all volunteer fire companies, we are in need of new members every year. If you would like to help serve your fellow residents, keep our taxes lower, and continue to make Cheltenham the amazing community it has been, then please consider becoming a volunteer firefighter. (time commitment is only 2-4 hours/ week, plus calls.)
Needed are applicants 16 years of age and up who live or work in the area, and should be physically fit. No previous training is required and necessary training is provided at no cost.
We meet weekly at 7 PM, Tuesday evenings at our location: 8215 Old York Road (at the Old York Road spur). If you are interested, please stop by to speak to our members and ask about becoming a volunteer or call Tuesday evening after 7 PM (215-887-6131).
